What the tools store

Every Dott. tool saves what you write (tasks, notes, marks, spending, student names and so on) in your browser's own storage on the device you are using. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We have no copy and cannot read, recover or reset it.

A backup is a file you download yourself. Where you keep it is up to you. If you clear your browser data, what you wrote is erased from that browser, which is why the tools remind you to keep a backup.

Dott. Kids and Dott. Teacher can hold information about children or students. That information also stays on your device only.

What we receive when you buy

Checkout is run by Payhip, our store provider, and its payment partners (such as PayPal or Stripe). They collect what is needed to take the payment, including your card details. We never see or store card details.

For each order, Payhip shows us your name, your email address, what you bought, the amount, and your country (for tax). We use this to deliver your purchase, answer your questions, handle refunds and keep the records the law asks of a shop. We do not sell it or share it for advertising.

Your licence key and the app link

When you open your tool from its link (dottshop.store/app/...) and type your licence key, the key is sent to our server, which asks Payhip whether it is valid and counts that device as one of your five. Nothing else about you is sent.

To keep you signed in, a cookie holding your licence key is saved on that device. It is needed for the link to work, it is not used for tracking, and the key is checked again about every 30 days. A small file store in your browser also keeps the app available offline.

This website

dottshop.store has no advertising pixels and no tracking cookies. The Home Hub pages (dottshop.store/hub) count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other sites.

• Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.
• Fonts. Our sales pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them, which shows Google your IP address. The tools themselves carry their fonts inside the file and contact no one.

Things that leave your device only when you ask

• Add to calendar. If you tap "Google" or "Outlook" on an event, your browser opens that calendar with the title and date of that one event filled in.
• Links you add. A web address you saved (for example in a reading list) opens that website when you tap it.
• Backup and export files. They go wherever you choose to save or send them.

The free pack and our emails

If you type your email on dottshop.store/hub to get the free pack, we keep that email address and the date in a private list, hosted with Google. We use it to send you the pack and a few emails about calmer family days and our tools. We do not sell or share it. Every email has a way to stop, and you can write to hello@dottshop.store to be removed at any time.

Emails you send us

If you write to hello@dottshop.store, we keep your message and address so we can reply and follow up. If we would like to quote something you wrote, we ask you first.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you (your order details and any emails), to correct it, or to delete it. Write to hello@dottshop.store and a person will answer. Some order records have to be kept for accounting and tax, and we will tell you if that applies.

What you wrote inside a tool is already in your hands: use Settings to download it or erase it.

Changes

If how we handle data changes, for example if we ever add analytics to this website, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
